Another year is about to end, and it is this time of year that people often start looking at what they should change in their lives. This is a very commendable act indeed. Unfortunately, most people fall short of their goals. The problem is that we postpone these decisions, and don't actually work for them. We look forward to a new time, and think that that will be a better time to change. We are like Augustine pleading to God to change him, but not yet. Everyday we should be asking God to change us, and right away. We never know when this life will end, and should be prepared at all times for what is to come. So, instead of waiting for the new year to over take you, make your resolution now! Make a change today, right this moment.
Once you have resolved to make this change, stick to it! Don't make some lofty goal for the whole next year, make your goal for today, and renew that intention tomorrow. Don't get far sighted. Look at what needs to change today, at what will make you better now. And, when you fall short, don't get discouraged. Learn your lesson, pick yourself up and get back on track. Let's all make this a better year starting today.
